Painting #27

"Inness Paints the Berkshires"

This painting is a re-paint of an earlier work, "Summer Haze," done in 1989. While I've been familiar with the works of George Inness for some time, the recent exhibit of his paintings at the Clark Art Institute here in Williamstown has been very inspiring to me. Inness painted in the Berkshires in the mid-nineteenth century and I feel almost a kinship with his artistic themes and ideas. He almost portrays nature as God-like in its existence and I feel that way. This painting is 20" x 24" in size and is for sale, framed, for $500.00.
