rm41 is a listserve. This means that if you address an email to rm41@yawp.com, a copy of your message will automatically be sent to EVERYONE on the list. This makes it an excellent venue for group discussions; requests for information or assistance; announcements of productions, auditions, weddings, childbirths, etc. It's your listserve, make the most of it. A couple things you should bear in mind, though:
To subscribe to the listserve - send an email to majordomo@yawp.com with the words ‘subscribe rm41’ in the body of the message. You do not need to put anything in the "subject" field.
To unsubscribe from the listserve - send an email to majordomo@yawp.com with the words ‘unsubscribe rm41’ in the body of the message. You do not need to put anything in the "subject" field.
To send a message to the listserve - all you have to do is address your email to: rm41@yawp.com
If you hit REPLY when responding to a rm41 message, your response will be sent to the person who sent the original message. If you want to send a response to the whole listserve, you will need send a new e-mail to rm41@yawp.comPlease remember, when replying to an email, it is not always necessary to copy the entire message in your response. The other folks on the list probably don't need to read the original message all over again, just to hear you say "Good idea!", so select only as much of the original message as we'll need to understand your response.
Also, please, never, never send chain mail, petitions, or generally non-topic-related posts of any kind no matter how well-meaning to this (or any other) listserve. It makes people really angry, and they may figure out a way to destroy you.
