KATE ASPENGREN - (playwright) - [Iowa City]
Currently Visiting Ass't Professor-UI Theatre Arts Dept.
I still live in Iowa City and now that I've bought a house in Coralville it doesn't look like I'll be leaving anytime soon.  (I still find it incredible that any reputable financial institution would give a home loan to a playwright.)  I'm an adjunct faculty member at UI where I teach a playwriting class or two each semester.  I'm also a visiting faculty member in women's studies at Cornell College in Mount Vernon.  My play, FLYER, is due to be published by Samuel French sometime this fall.  I'm also a newly certified EMT (emergency medical technician) and hope to begin working part-time in that field soon.

ROBB BARNARD - (actor) - [New York]
(MFA acting, '94)
In September of '94 Robb got his Equity Card with THEATREWORKS/USA touring around the country and pretty much figured he will never find any work that is not on a TYA (Theatre for Young Audiences) Contract until his hair really does turn at least 30% gray, and after Five tours with them, he got a permanant position with a Puppeteer, Jim West, and has been manipulating objects since then. Going on Six years in the same job--Who would have ever thought I could hold onto a job for that long!  During the past SEVEN! summers I have found work at a wonderful place in Lenox, MA called Belvoir Terrace. It is an Arts Camp for girls from 8-16. I teach acting, direct 4 shows, and really enjoy life in the Berkshires for 10 weeks. I purchased a studio in Brooklyn, NY 3 years ago, and it sits empty a lot. So if you need a place in NYC for a short stay, give me a shout, I might be out of town! 197 nights last year...

ADAM BURTON - (actor, graphic artist, board op, stage manager, writer) - [Iowa City]
Adam is still living in Iowa City and enjoying the heck out of it. He eventually finished his degree in French Literature (??!?) and has managed to meander from one techie-type job to another, finally landing at NCS where he shares a double-wide cubicle with John Smick. They both have the boss-types totally hoodwinked into believing that they know how educational testing software should work, so they are tasked with designing interfaces which are then inflicted on hundreds of thousands of hapless high school students every year.  Once in a blue moon Adam still makes it to No Shame Theatre, but Smick almost always bails -- hence the term "pulling a Smick" as in "He was going to go, but then he pulled a Smick on me."
