Where In The World Is The Cavegirl?...Welcome to Warsaw

My nephew, a good friend, and I went to Warsaw Inn for authentic Polish food.

The buffet was decidedly lavish. Huge platters of sweets, savories, and stick-in-the-belly food. These are the only real pierogies I have ever had. Be careful though, some of them are stuffed with a sweetcheese and cinnamon. I prefer the sauerkraut ones.

It would have been really helpful if they had labeled the food. Most of the other diners spoke what I would guess was Polish.(duh)

Huge cubes of meat in a gelatinous gel of fat is called head cheese. They also had stuffed green peppers, stuffed cabbage, veal parmesan, potato pancakes, lots of chicken things, beef in a sweetish gravy, lots of salad items, and liver with onions (yum!) But MOST of the food had strange spices and hard chunks of unground meat, so I didn't really like it.

You might though.
