School Uniform Survey


A short survey was conducted
for the following reasons/questions:


  1. To gain individual standpoints on school uniforms from teachers and students from both uniformed, and non-uniformed schools.
  2. To find what information regarding school uniforms should be presented/questioned.
  3. How do students/teachers coming from uniformed schools feel/felt about their situation?
  4. How do students/teachers coming from non-uniformed schools feel/felt about their situation?
  5. Are uniforms viewed as a solution to school crime?
  6. Do uniforms remove Constitutional freedoms?

  • 82% felt that uniforms should not be mandatory.

  • 46% did not know the approximate cost of a complete uniform set.

  • 64% believed that uniforms could reduce crime at school.

  • 82% believed that uniforms could reduce social, cultural, and socioeconomic discrimination.

  • 73% said that uniforms would not help them focus more accurately during school hours.

  • 55% felt that uniforms did not improve teacher-student interactions and relationships.

  • 55% however, felt that uniforms would improve student-student interactions and relationships.

  • and 64% said that overall uniforms would not be/been a beneficial asset to their school.
