Budget breakdown:

 

Salaries for three researchers:

$18.00 per hour for 20 hours per week for 36 weeks=$12,960 for each researcher.     $12,960 * 3=$38,880

 

Miscellaneous:

Office supplies, i.e. paper, pencils, etc.=$1120

 

Total costs=$40,000

Week1—Week 6

Researchers meet for four hours per day Monday through Friday, to discuss the scheduling, write survey instruments and questionnaires, discuss the research procedure, conduct teacher interviews, work with teachers on rewriting lesson units to include arts activities.

 

Week 7—Week 15

Each researcher will observe two of the sixteen classes for a nine-week time period, for a total of three hours per day.  The research team will then meet together for one hour per day to discuss their observations.

 

Week 16—Week 24

Each researcher will observe two of the sixteen classes for a nine-week time period, for a total of three hours per day.  The research team will then meet together for one hour per day to discuss their observations.

 

Week 25—Week 33

Each researcher will observe two of the remaining classes to be studied, including the Fine Arts classes for a total of three hours per day.  The research team will then meet together for one hour per day to discuss their observations.

 

Week 34—Week 36

The researchers will analyze the data acquired during the research and form a hypothesis.
