The Little Things
During these bleak, lonely months
During this time we’ve been forced apart
The little things we took for granted
Are now the dearest to our hearts
Without the slightest hesitation
I would almost give anything
To watch you sleep, to watch you play
To hear you laugh, to hear you sing
These are the little things I miss
When I’m lying in bed alone
The little things I think about
When I dream of your coming home
I pray to God to keep you safe
To keep you well and far from harm
I promise your children you’ll be back
That they’ll find comfort again in your arms
To always remember the little things you did
And never forget that however hard it seems
Your winks, your hugs, your kisses goodnight
Will always be with us, throughout our dreams
With all my love,
Wendi
