Biography of the Artist/Educator

 

Wendi Callaway is a graduate student at Texas A&M University in Commerce, Texas.  She has completed her Master's degree in Educational Technology with an emphasis in Digital Media and Visual Communication.  She teaches three levels of Art at Terrell High School in Terrell, Texas.   Ms. Callaway plans to complete the requirements for the Technology Applications certification before beginning her Doctoral degree in Art Education at the University of North Texas in January of 2003.  Ms. Callaway wishes to someday teach Digital Art and Media on the college level, conduct research in the field of art and technology integration into other subject areas and eventually be a university Dean of Art.  Ms. Callaway believes that art and technology go hand in hand to promote higher level thinking, collaborative learning and teamwork, and the development of higher self-esteem in students through creative expression and artistic accomplishment.
