Language

Chinese & Japanese (intro book:  "Noodle Words", by D.M. Murray & 
                   T.W. Wong. a v. nice book on writing words in
Japanese & Chinese, nice talky style. 

Karen Languages (spoken in lower Myanmar, Burma/Thailand). Three
                groups: Northern (Taungthu), Central (Bwe & Geba),
and Southern (Pwo & Sgaw). Only the southern languages have 
written forms (at the present time 2005.01.08) [Ref: Ency Brit, 
Vol.6, P.742 (natch)]
