Marcia Manning of Cochran, Bleckley County, Georgia. She has lived in the mid-state area all her life. Marcia's realistic, acrylic paintings consist of rich, detailed natural scenery, Georgian homes and farmhouses. Although self-taught, her paintings are cheerful, calming combinations of context, pigment, even texture, contrasting light and color into shape and motion, ultimately expressing her love of art. Marcia is best known for her 1996 painting depicting a scene of downtown Cochran, Georgia. The idea for the painting came from W. Lonnie Barlow, Attorney and local Historian. He purchased the original and prints were sold to benefit the Cochran City Auditorium Restoration Project.
