Joyce Summers
Joyce Summers is the mother of a hard to deal with teen; Buffy. Well, Joyce Summers doesn't really yet understand the full responsibilities that Buffy has, and therefore she doesn't know how to cope with her. She just recently found out that Buffy was a slayer, and that the weird occurrences around the Sunnydale area were really a reality. She finds herself constantly in a phase of confusion as she just does not understand her daughters problems. She is a very concerned mother who works at an art gallery. She is a single parent because of divorce who is constantly worried about Buffy as she forgets that Buffy can pretty much take care of herself and that she has a pretty good group of friends to help her. She is jealous of the amount of time that Buffy spends with her watcher Giles, but it will change as she is getting use to the slaying business. Joyce is played by Kristine Sutherland.
