"Welcome to the District 3 Spring Conference"

Jodie Kay Petra, DTM
DISTRICT 3 GOVERNOR

JODIE KAY PETRA

Welcome to Ahwatukee and the District 3 Spring Conference!

This conference is dedicated to celebrating the dreams we have realized this year and to have fun.

As we approach the end of our year: "Today's Dreams; Tomorrow's Realities" I am thrilled with the number of individuals and clubs that have accomplished their goals.  Club members who have met the requirement for Distinguished club this year will be wearing special ribbons at this conference.

Take a moment to be part of the dreams they have caught, and make a commitment to earn your own ribbon. How?...by helping your club become distinguished by June 30. Individuals who complete various activities that Toastmasters offers will also be seen wearing their Dream Catcher pins.

Please share a warm District 3 welcome with our visiting dignitaries: International Directory Beth Boaz, DTM, Past International President Helen Blanchard, DTM, and Past District 50 Governor Pat Gallagher, DTM. We also extend a special welcome to our keynote speaker Phoenix Councilman Cody Williams, and our Communications and Leadership recipient Jana Bommerbach. These are but a few of the many Dreamship attendees this weekend.

This conferences is dedicated to celebrating the dreams we have realized this year and to having F-U-N! You will find many opportunities this weekend to share ideas with fellow Toastmasters.

Please make a special effort to meet and greet everyone wearing a "First-Timers" ribbon. Congratulations to the speech contestants from our six divisions - they are truly the Dream Catchers of their divisions. In addition to all the fun activities, this conference offers seven terrific educational sessions. This is our opportunity to learn new skills or discover new opportunities in your quest for communication and leadership excellence.

We are grateful to Lt. Governor Education & Training Kelli McDoulett, DTM, and her committee led by Hal Key, ATM, and Colleen Humpal, DTM, and all the Toastmasters who put together this exciting conference. We appreciate the participation of all who have chosen to spend their weekend with us in Ahwatukee to help make this another exciting event. Share your dreams and realities, make new friends, listen to some fabulous speeches, and learn something new!
.
As we celebrate Dreamship 2000, we move one step closer to the accomplishment of our goals. Enjoy the conference!

Jodie Kay Petra, DTM
