"Tough Crowd"

George Self, DTM

GEORGE SELF
Many Toastmasters have given speeches to clubs and groups where the environment is relatively safe. The truly professional speaker, though, must be prepared for all situations and any crowd.

In this presentation, George Self, ATM-B shares tips for working a good crowd in a bad room and working a bad crowd in any room.

You'll learn how to work an audience seated "in the round" with the speaker in the middle, how to adjust your speech to overcome drunks or hecklers, and what to do when a train whistle just outside the auditorium makes hearing impossible (one of George's toughest challenges. Y

You will leave this session with tools that will help you overcome any speaking obstacle - any "tough crowd."

Saturday, 3:15 P.M.
