Betty Gillis
Youth Leadership Award
    Betty Gillis, DTM
The Betty Gillis Youth Leadership Award was established in honor of Betty Gillis following her death (January 14, 1995) in recognition of her work through Youth Leadership with the Youth of Tucson.
  Betty was a long time member of District 3. She joined the Eyeopeners in Tucson in 1976 and served the club in several capacities. During the '80's, Betty was a Area and Division Governor and acheived her DTM.

She and her husband, Bob, joined the Catalina club in 1990. They were very active in youth leadership and helped influence many other Toastmasters  (including Bob & Lee Wagner and Bob & Deane Erickson) to get involved with the Youth Leadership Toastmasters Program
