Mike
Herskovits, DTM
Mike is a true
Arizona native. He was born in Phoenix but spent much of his growing up
years in Chandler Heights which is near Queen Creek. He earned an Associates
Degree from Mesa Community College and began working for Motorola as a
very low level accounting clerk in 1976. While working at Motorola he earned
his bachelors degree in Production Operations and Personnel Management
from ASU in 1982. He is currently both a Certified ISO 9000 and Malcolm
Baldrige Assessor, and Quality Specialist for the Fixed Wireless Systems
Group.
Mike met his
wonderful wife Jeanie in the hallway at Motorola 14 years ago and fell
madly in love with her. It took her a little while to do likewise. She
also works at Motorola in the Finance department. They have a son Teddy
and a daughter Melissa that both attend Paloma Elementary School in Chandler.
They have all been involved in youth soccer and Boy and Girl Scouting.
Mike and Jeanie have both been very active in the Congregational Church
of the Valley serving as officers and Sunday School teachers.
Mike joined
Motorola Echoes Toastmasters in 1984. Over his 16 years in Toastmasters,
Mike has been there and done that. He has participated in many speech contests
not only as a functionary but also as a participant including competing
at the District level. He has also been a member of three other clubs over
the years. He has been a Distinguished Area Governor twice and the District
3 Outstanding Division Governor. He has earned not only his DTM, but Able
Toastmaster Bronze and Silver, Advanced Toastmaster Gold, Competent Leader
and recently completed his 4th CTM Again award. He has also held most every
club officer position, been a District Committee Chair and a current TLI
Facilitator. Mike is the current President of Motorola Echoes and is very
honored to be considered for election as the Lt. Governor of Marketing.
