Silent Auction and Raffle News

by Tammy Matthews, Silent Auction & Raffle Chair

This was my first time to attend a Toastmasters conference, and my first time to chair an event. I did not know what to expect as Chair of the Silent Auction, so I relied on the advice of past attendees.

Based on their feedback, we raised the same amount of money ($800) as the last conference and with fewer attendees. Barbara Zuczeck, Pam Hall and myself were instrumental in receiving several donations from companies such as the Arizona Diamondbacks, Cathy's Rum Cake, and Embassy Suites, just to name of few.

I would like to give a special thank you to a few special people who helped make this conference raffle a smooth one. Julie Schruel (for helping me get started and making sure that if I needed help, she would be available). Barbara Zuczek (for taking time out of her busy schedule to make calls and to drive to companies asking for donations). Jerome Lahey (for helping me sell raffle tickets at the conference). Last but not least, PJ Glauz for asking me to help at the conference.

Tammy Matthews sold raffle tickets to everyone, including District Governor Elect PJ Glauz
