What Is Your Club Policy regarding membership information?

    Hi Fellow Toastmasters,

On Thursday, May 4 th I sent this message to Nancy Langton at International.

"This morning at my Toastmasters of Sedona club meeting I announced that the Club Board felt that only guests who became paid members were entitled to receive our club schedule. Part of the reason is that members' names, phones numbers and e-mail addresses are on the reverse side of the schedule.

Guests receive a handout telling them about functionaries and welcoming them to the meeting. Some members have offered guests our schedule and many of the members felt this was inappropriate. Paying dues has privileges, one of them being the schedule.

I was asked if Toastmasters International has a policy or guideline on this so that is the purpose of the e-mail.

Please address your reply to my home computer: marian@kachina.net.

    Thank you,"

Nancy's reply was that there is no policy and it is up to each Club to decide.

I would be interested in how your clubs handle this issue.

    Thanks for your input,

Marian Sjostrom, ATM-S/CL, Toastmasters of Sedona
