TITLE
DEVELOP INTEREST / BE INTERESTING
Description of Speech:
A "show and tell" demonstration talk on the craft of stained-glass making. Proceeds from the unthinkable dilemma of some retirees, i.e., "Now what do I do with all this time on my hands?", through the concept of "develop interests/be interesting" to the specific artisanship, of working with stained glass. A technically-proficient, artistically presented stained glass walk-through, incorporating humor throughout and an empathy for people without knowledge of the craft.
     Time:  8 - 20 minutes

TITLE
HISTORY OF AHWATUKEE
Description of Speech:
Specialized by geography, no doubt, but a gem for anyone living in or around the Ahwatukee foothills area. A history lesson told through the eyes of someone who has taken note of what's here now, and has researched - in painstaking, anything-but-dull detail - the history of the area, and wonders where we're all going from here (both geographically and metaphorically). The speech is fascinating, informative, humorous and ironic throughout.
     Time: 7 - 20 minutes
