Review of Third Eye Blinds Performance at the 26th Annual American Music Awards 1-11-99
Can you say show offs?! Stephan jumped around so much he could barely sing, so he just screamed the entire song,which was Graduate, or was it?. They alternated the line "Can I Graduate" with "Can I masturbate".(at first you could barely catch it, then they started saying it louder and fially the producers caught in the last chourus and bleeped it out) Poprock? I think not. Stephan didn't think so either. He twirled his microphone stand, ripped down some decorations,jumped around, sat down, screamed, and laid on the floor. They weren't going to be fake and behave just because they were at some awards thing. Stephan's I don't fuckin' care attitude was at its best, and he ruled the stage. His cocky, look at me NOW attitude (the smirks at the audience, the strutting across the stage) screamed of sex. No one can perform like him. You can't even describe it. It's intense.
It tears me up inside to say anything bad about the boys, but Kevin- get a FREAKIN' haircut! He wore his hair long and shaggy. What's up w/ that? His guitar playing on this song was as always without compare, but altogether it wasn't their best sounding live performance of this song. The acual performing of it rocked- when in doubt, do it loud.
