Alphabetical
Listing of Artists *** National *** Excellent! Cezanne, Degas, Matisse,
Monet, Pissaro, Renoir, and many many more, all with many examples of their
work with many others coming soon.
Andrews, Jack
("Artist") *** Tucson *** "World-Wide Graphics".
Some of my favorites of his work from his non-digitial
work section are the "Avra
Crawler", "Aboriginal",
and "Avra"
images while many of his digital
images are strong including "Supraliminal"
which on the surface might seem to be the surface of another planet, but
it might also be a haunting symbolism of frightening things which we all
keep hidden, locked in deep holes. The electric sparks might be direct
synapse pathways. The overall sense is that we're looking at electron microscope
images of our own brains and how they hide things from us.
I particularly like the homey touch that his three daughter's web pages
give.
Andrews,
Melissa Her poem "Autumn Leaves" not only tells the story
of the, "crystaline piercing of peace and unplanned aloneness",
but its word placement adds to the vitality of the words, forcing your
head to move in the fluttering manner of leaves.
Andrews,
Rebecca "Abstract1" has an underlying symmetry of design
with grays at the top and white along the bottom half. However, the piercing
red lines at the bottom, because of their angle, imply the corner of a
room. Seven carefully placed spheres seem all to be like eyes looking off
in different directions, seeming to be trying to ignore the glare of the
one black-circled orb which glares, perfectly designed, in the upper right
of the image like a strict teacher. A well-done piece for one of such an
early age. The overall feel is one of visual depth. and tension.
And, Andrews,
Katrina, who is ten years old, writes a bit about herself, "My
favorite movies are: "The Secret of Roan Inish", "The Adventures
of Baron Van Munchausen", and "Powder." We'd like to see
you expand your home page, Katrina, and delve deeper into what it was that
you liked about those three movies (I liked all three as well).

comics and fine art. Each image exhibits a powerful reality twist which
imparts a sense of humanity and pathos to each subject ( such as with her
Jester
drawing ). There are more images in her museum, so make sure you click
the forward and backwards arrows to see the other rooms.

more beautiful than those at Lascaux.

Krajnc, Anton
*** Tucson *** "Anton Krajnc's Studio on the Net" has some beautiful
images on it. His Lithographs
are intricately colored and delicately illustrated. "All Original
Color Lithographs are created directly on lithographic stones or plates,
up to fourteen different ones for as many colors. They are then handprinted
by the artist himself, signed and numbered in strictly limited small size
editions of 150-300 impressions at most." He also created his own
fresco, a thing not done much now-a-days, on the walls
of the Baptism Chapel in Castle Bernau in Fischlham Austria.
Larson,
Chuck - *** Worldwide *** Chuck Larson: Illustration and Design. Excellent
site, excellent graphics. "Digital Design for Print, Film, Themed

Leonardo

Manet,
Edouard - *** Worldwide *** Paris WebMuseum
Mardon, Alan
- *** Tucson *** From Pima. This delightful image of the San Xavier Mission
is pure Tucson. The monsoon rains build up behind jagged lighting bolts
and a stylized rainbow. A person is picking Saguaro fruit using a Saguaro
rib tool. A deer headed man hunts with bow and arrow by the Santa Cruz.
Delightful, intricate and I wish I could see it EVEN
BIGGER.
Martinson, Laurie
- *** Tucson *** Although I could do without the hokey cactus photo on
the second page, this site opens up once you're inside. In the painting
"Come
into My Garden", Laurie reminds me that even a place as harsh
as a desert may be coaxed from its prickly sharpness, if only for a moment.

Schlosser,
David - *** Tucson *** "Another WebBoy Production", David,
who does work for The Arizona Daily Star, is a Tucson-based graphic artist.
Some of his professional work surpasses the typical slickness or dullness
which is common in most commercial work. Some of the ones I really liked
were The
Crying Boy which well illustrates the pain of childhood affronts and
Cyber
Cafe whose computer-rendered tabletop emits a warm sense of life and
vitality not often seen in 3D renderings.
