Love in the Balance

Two lives, somehow try
	To hang in the balance,
		From opposite ends
			Of the earth and sky.


With a gentle kiss,
	There is a promise 
		Of consuming passion,
			Emotional bliss.

			
With an electric caress,
	And soundless sigh
		They connect to an eternity 
			Of spiritual love -- on high.


Will these lives join,
	In physical ecstasy sublime,
		One together and side by side
			at the center of time?

		
Or will they be destined to a sojourn
	Of love in the balance? 
		A life they to learn
			To love.


			From opposite ends
				Of the earth and sky.
