PROPERTY
The Earl of Marr, who led the insurrection in 1715, was a bachelor and left a fine property in the vicinity of Paisley County of Renfrew, Scotland. It is based on this, that the decendents of Lawrence Marr believe there will be a fortune coming to them. It has cost them a considerable sum.
CHEVALIER DE ST GEORGE
The first attempt to reestablish the house of Stuart on the Scottish and English throne was made by Chevalier De St George. The Earl of Mar raised the standard of revolt when the first attempt was made/ 10,000 highland clansmen joined his standard; and the kilted revolters were held in check by the Duke of Argyle, Archibald Campbell until they were finally dispersed.
John Erskine, the second Earl of Mar, seized control of James VI in 1578. He negotiated the question of Jame's succession to the English throne.
