MILITARY HISTORY
My father, JOHN HERVEY MARR, served his country during World War II as a Marine. His company was L 24 and it was the 4th Marine Division. He was a radio man.
During his mission, Dad made four landings on the Islands of Roi De Mor, Tinia, Saipan, and Iwo Jima.
Before going out to sea, he was stationed at Camp Pendleton in California.
