JAMES PATTERSON


Captain James had a store and trading post in Donegal Township. He sold the property in 1749 and moved to the Conecocheague Settlement in Cumberland Valley. In February 1755 he received a land warrant for 407 acreas on land on the Juniate River where he built his house, mills and a stronghold known as Patterson's Fort.
