PWP President Elisa Drachenberg's story "Soon" was accepted for publication in the OASIS Journal 2003, an annual anthology of short stories, essays and poetry.

Elisa has also been accepted as a participant at the working-Writer Retreat in Coasa Rico for the month of October. Congratulations to Elisa for both accomplishments.

PWP member Mary Young's novel, Desparate Measures, was named an Editor's Choice by iUniverse. It received this designation after two extensive editorial reviews. The book will be available by the time the end of September.

PWP member Kathryn Wilkens had her essay Always in Bloom, published in the August issue of Romantic Homes, in the reader-contribution feature "From Your Pen."

PWP First Vice President Kate Robinson published a short story, "Normal," in the spring 2003, Volume 4 issue of Muse Appreciation Guide (M.A.G.) Also, her literary short story "Dancing Universe" was announced as the winner of the Jerry Jazz Musician Short Fiction Award. With this award comes a prize of $200 and a June 15 publication date on www.jerryjazzmusician.com. Great job Kate!

Local Writers' Critique Groups Looking for Members

Stasis Group (Prescott area, Arizona) - This group will accept published or non-published writers of fiction, any genre. The group meets every other Saturday at 10:00 am. Participants read no more than four works (preferably three) within the two weeks between meetings, and give oral critique during meetings. Writers will provide each member a complete photocopy of either a short story or a chapter of a novel (members will write comments and/or corrections on it.) For further details e-mail Tom Wright.
