"Desert Thunder" is made up of local Willcox youths from the ages of 9 to 14 years old.This team was formed in November-1995 and performed it's first Exibitition in Aug of 1996 at the Arizona Resort Tournament held in Tucson, Az.

The Team went on to compete in the Arizona State Country Western Dance Championships in November of 1996 held in Tucson, Az... Earning First Place in the Jr. Team Division.

They entered their First National Competition in the UCWDC "Arizona Country Classic" in June of 1997 in Tucson, Az...Earning 2nd place in the Combination Showcase Catagory - Adult Division

They entered their 2nd National Competition in the CWDI "SouthWestern Country Dance Fiesta" in July of 1997 in Tucson, Az..Earning First Place in the Jr. Team Division.

The team competed in the CWDI "Old Pueblo County Dance Competition" on March-15-1998 in Tucson,Az...Earning First Place in the Jr. Team Division.

The Team Competed in the CWDI "I.C.E." Event in September of 1998 in Pismo Beach, California...Earning First Place in the Jr. Team Division

The team competed in the CWDI "Old Pueblo County Dance Competition" on March-14-1999 in Tucson,Az...Earning First Place in the Jr. Team Division.
