Believe in the fairies who make dreams come true.
Believe in the wonder, the stars and the moon.
Believe in the magic from the fairies above,
They dance in the flowers and sing songs of love.
And if you believe and always stay true,
The fairies will be there to watch over you.

Faeries have always mystified mankind. We have always searched for answers about them even when they were thought of as a
common occurance. Perhaps if we at least knew of their origins then we could have the answers that we so long for-that is
if they do have an origin. Some Christians believe that faeries are angels that fell to earth when Lucifer was cast out of
Heaven. Pagans have a tendency to believe that they are creatures that occupy a parallel universe known as the Astral plane.
Other people, usually people who follow science, think they are a race of shy people, who were very small, known as the pygmy
race. They are believed to have either been driven out by the spreading of man and have all died, or (a less accepted theory
) are currently living in unknown underground tunnel systems. A more recent theory is that faeries are UFOs. This seems far
fetched, but alien abductions and faerie abductions have remarkable similarties to each other. I feel inclined to talk about
this theory first. The obivious first...most people think of faeries as little green people that fly around using their
wings, much like aliens but a modern tale needs modern machinery...space crafts. By the way, I am aware that there is
thought to be 9 different races of aliens and the most popular kind are grey, but people still like to refer to them as
little green men. Now the questions arise. UFOs come from outer space and faeries are (at least one belif, but this one is
good for the opposite effects) believed to live underground. Well the first and most decent answer that comes to mind is
that they want to hide or confuse us as to where they truly reside. This seems reasonable since they are widely known to
seperate humans from their world, usually only letting in those that please them in some "beautiful" way...being in
appearence or talent. In the faerie abductions, people are taken to places or join ring dances, which have taken place over
hours at a time when the person thought it to be only 5 min. In UFO abductions time loss also occurs. They might be driving
down the road and see a light. Then suddenly they will be on a completely different section of the road and look at the
clock and realise that 3 or more hours has passed. This happened in one such case to a couple. When they were hypnotised
and told to recall what happened, they described a detaled report of an alien abduction. Now in some cases of faerie
abductions, the person would come back and realise that hundreds of years have passed. Then when they realised this, was
touched by another human, or tried to eat they would crumble into a pile of dust. This might have something to do with the
belief that faeries are the dead or could just be a tall tale to either frighten or make a story more intresting. Even just
watching faeries dance, or watching UFO lights in the sky would cause people to loose time. Both also seem to have accounts
of baby snaching. Faeries would steal human babies out of their cribs and replace them with their own, usually a faerie that
is hundreds of years old. Aliens have been known to either inpregnate women or take their babies while their still pregnant.
It has also been known for some women to have faerie babies as well as alien babies, wheather they were willing to or not.
It is thought that they did this to add new genes for their race. Another idea is that faeries of the past chose to present
themselves to humans as little people in the woods or the gardens, and they make themselves appear as aliens. The reason for
this is still unclear. Maybe they decided that they need a modern look for us. Or perhaps people today are expecting to see
a circle of lights in the sky then a circle of lights on the ground. Which reminds me to mention a link between crop circles
and faerie circles.
