One of my loves is writing, especially poetry. So, here is some poetry. I will add more as time progresses. You can also go BACK.
Why I'm Losing Sleep
Do you know what its like?
To have something as simple as a dream,
Tell you everything you've ever known is wrong.
To have your saftey net set aflame,
And your glass slippers break.
Do you know how it feels?
To have everything you hold true,
Be nothing but a scam.
To have the reality you've built,
Be completely wrong.
Do you know what to do?
When you feel like a stranger,
And you see with new eyes.
When your skin doesn't fit,
When you feel foreign in your own body.
Do you know what its like?
To open your soul and peek inside,
And see that you aren't who you've become.
To rip all from your heart,
Beacuse it is wrong.
Do you know how it feels?
To let apathy weigh you down,
Beacuse nothing matters when you don't exist.
To rip at your flesh,
Beacuse it was made all wrong.
Do you know what to do?
When you've seen yourself,
And even though its different, you like what you see.
When you aren't who you are,
And you're only what you've become.
Masks
You think you've known me for years
Bet you don't even know my fears
You're so sure you know who I am
But all along it was just a scam
I wear this mask so you can't see
Its all an act, not the real me
You never took the time to look inside
I tried so many times to confide
You wouldn't listen, wouldn't hear
Just keep pretending you're there dear
We all wear masks and try to hide
So precious few take the time to look inside
Hard to believe its that hard to care
Don't you want to know who's under there
A whole new person waiting to be found
Unleash their mask and hear their sound
You thought you knew me, now you know
It takes alot to just let go.
The Pain Inside
I can feel the burning
I can feel the fear
I can feel your pain inside
I can feel the anguish
I can feel the pride
I can feel your pain inside
I can feel the suffering
I can feel the hurt
I can feel your pain inside
Running Inside
Yea, I know how you feel.
You keep yourself all bottled up inside.
You like to everyone, mostly yourself.
You hide from fear by going inside yourself.
But, you don't like it in there, its dark and cold.
When you go there you have to make your own reality to block the thoughts.
You have to live in a land of your own.
Sure, there is no fear or pain.
But there you are also alone.
Yea, I know how you feel.
You run from the pain, from the thoughts.
You hide from the world, but most of all you hide from yourself.
Do You Want To Meet Me?
Spending time searching for myself
While all my friends search for wealth
On the inside fighting to get out
Try to scream, try to shout
Need to find out who I am
Need to end this daily scam
Looking like someone I'm not
Drinking beer and smoking pot
Born in the wrong outside
Stuck inside to quiver and hide
All along I try to be
But do you really want to meet me?
He Is Me
Looking out I try to see
The person in the mirror isn't me
I've never looked quite right
Always in a mind vs body fight
Can only try to look like he
For I am she but he is me
Cut off my long hair, make it short
Tell my friends its all for sport
Someday I'll be who I need to be
For I am she, but he is me.
Alex
Short brown hair
A jaunty walk
Listens with care
When others talk
Always the funny guy
Always so crazy
Eating a french fry
Or holding a daisy
On camera he hams it up
And talks and jokes with ease
Loves his cat, and dearest pup
And always aims to please
Music of nearly any kind
Cooks when feeling like it
Over stimulates his mind
And wears clothes to big to fit
Likes to take walks by the water
Sometimes writes a story
Lifts too many weights without a spotter
And loves his movies gory
Dislikes the giddy, annoying girls
Always pays on dates
Likes his gals with little curls
And picks the perfect mates
