Medium White Sauce

• 2 T. Butter
• 2 T. Flour
• 1/4 tsp. Salt
• 1/8 tsp. Pepper
• 1 Cup Milk

This is the Sauce I use when I make Chipped Beed on Toast ( or SOS to those who have been in the service). The recipe for Chipped Beef on Toast may be found on my Main Dish Recipes page.

To make the white sauce

• Melt the butter in a saucepan
• Add the flour, salt & pepper, cooking on low heat & stirring till sauce is smooth & bubbly.
• Stir in milk
• Heat to boiling, stirring continually for 1 or 2 minutes or until the sauce thickens
