Tryggur, Icelandic Horse, and the Halter

Tryggur picking up his halter via CT.

Tryggur is an Icelandic Horse, and is learning
to put his own head in his halter.

These photos show the steps we go thru so that
the horse is slowly learning the behavior.

He is rewarded for each step positive step that he takes.

Tryggur is first asked to "touch" the halter.

Then he is asked to put his nose in it a little,

then a little more. He's ok with everything so far.

As the left hand slides up the halter, he gets a little nervous,

then when he sees the strap going up by his ears,
he pulls back.

We start over again slowly.
