Wild Horse Mentors'
"Least Resistance Training Series"
CLICKER TRAINING WORKSHOP
With Judy Ryder-Duffy

July 10th - Brentwood, CA

Last Revised 5-29-99

In cooperation with the AMBA Central Coast Chapter

Spend a day and evening exploring the world of clicker training with Judy Ryder-Duffy. This is a hands on clinic with both day and evening programs geared to a wide variety of training applications which include such areas as:
  • Gentling wild horses & burros

  • Stress intervention

  • Spook proofing

  • Behavior modification

  • Obstacles and problem solving

  • Tricks and advanced behaviors

  • Advanced riding techniques
This will be an introductory level program where basic techniques can be explored and practiced. The venue, Brentwood Oaks, facilitates a "total package" environment where meals and overnight lodging are available, participants can mingle and share information, and arenas and other work areas are available after the formal clinic program to practice or try out new ideas.

The on-site bed and breakfast includes a swimming pool, spa and dry sauna. Program participants may use these facilities whether or not they lodge for the night. We suggest everyone bring a swimsuit and make this a learning vacation.

We suggest folks trailering in long distance arrive the night before so that they and their animals can be fresh and relaxed for the workshop, and depart Sunday morning after a nice continental breakfast which includes all sorts of goodies for the humans (and hay for the horses & burros.)

The evening program will include an excellent catered buffet dinner in a relaxed atmosphere, casual discussions, viewing videos on the big screen TV and use of the various facility amenities such as the pool, spa and sauna. (You don't have to be an "overnighter" to make use of the facility.) Furthermore, you may use available stable areas to practice skills with your horse or burro (subject to allowing reasonable access for stable boarders.)

Registration forms are available on-line and by mail for those who can't print from the web. To be placed on a mailing list for registration packets, please contact Sheryl Feit. Please be sure to indicate if you cannot use a downloadable form and need a hard copy mailed to you.
