I NOW LIVE IN NORTHWESTERN ARIZONA AND LIVE WITH MY
MOM AND DAD. I MOVED HERE IN 1991 FROM
ADOLPH,
MINNESOTA (a little town just west of Duluth).
WHEN
I FIRST MOVED DOWN HERE I LIVED IN BULLHEAD CITY.
PROBABLY THE WORST AND THE BEST TOWN I
EVER LIVED IN. I LEARNED (not so fast)
ABOUT
THE
WAYS OF THE WORLD. COMING FROM A SMALL
TOWN,
I HAD
SOME PEOPLE TAKE FULL ADVANTAGE OF MY NOT SO WORLDLY
WAYS. I WON'T MENTION ANY NAMES (they
know
who they
are) BUT, SOME OF THE ROOM MATES I HOOKED UP WITH
WERE PRETTY BIZZARE. MOVING SOUTH SURE
GAVE
ME A
RUDE AWAKENING. AND THAT IS WHY I LIVE
WITH MY
MOM
AND DAD.

AND NOW BACK
TO MINNESOTA
BACK IN MINNESOTA LIFE WAS A WHOLE LOT EASIER.
YOU
DIDN'T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT PEOPLE AS THEY ARE A LOT
KINDER AND OPEN HEARTED. YOU NEVER HAD
TO LOCK YOUR
THE DOOR AT YOUR HOUSE MATTER OF FACT WE NEVER EVEN
OWNED A KEY TO THE LOCK ON THE DOOR.
THIS WAS DONE
SO
THAT IF SOMEONE WAS WALKING HOME OR THEIR CAR BROKE
DOWN, THEY COULD COME IN AND WARM UP ON THOSE
COLD
WINTER NIGHTS. NOTHING WAS EVER TAKEN
EXCEPT MAYBE
A CUP OF HOT COFFEE TO WARM THEM UP. AS
FOR THE CAR "right=
align image>
WE ALWAYS LEFT THE KEYS IN IT. IT WAS
JUST KIND OF
A COURTESY TO THE NEIGHBORS IF THEY HAD CAR TROUBLE
LATE AT NIGHT, THEN THEY WOULD BORROW THE CAR
AND
GET THEIRS REPAIRED. THIS WAS DONE BY
EVERYONE IN
ADOLPH. NO CARS WERE EVER STOLEN WHEN
I LIVED THERE. THOSE WERE THE GOOD OLD
DAYS. WHEN YOU COULD TRUST EVERYONE
AROUND YOU. NOW, HERE IN
ARIZONA, YOU HAVE TO LOCK YOUR
DOORS, HOUSE, CAR OUT
BUILDINGS, EVERYTHING THAT YOU OWN. SURE
IT WAS COLD UP THERE BUT, LIFE WAS MUCH EASIER
AND A "HELL" OF A LOT LESS HECTIC. THOSE
WERE THE GOOD OLD DAYS. I WILL PROBABLY NEVER
FIND THEM AGAIN, BUT AT LEAST I HAVE GOOD
MEMORIES OF MY YOUNGER YEARS.
"left=align image>"right align image>
NOW I WILL GO ON TO SOME OF MY FRIENDS NOW
AND THEN.
I HAVE MET SO MANY PEOPLE
IN MY LIFE, SOME I CONSIDER FRIENDS AND SOME I
CONSIDER ACQUAINTANCES AND SOME I CONSIDER MERE
ACQAINTANCES. I WON'T EVEN TALK ABOUT THE
ACQUAINTANCES OR MERE ACQUAINTANCES. I DON'T
KNOW
WHETHER TO
START WITH MY NEW FRIENDS OR THE OLD.
OH, WHAT THE HELL I'LL START OLD FIRST.
I KNOW THEM BETTER
ANYWAY.

HEY MIDGE THE ANGELS ARE JUST FOR YOU. AHHH
(sigh) MIDGE IS
MY OLDEST (not in age) AND DEAREST FRIEND. I
MET HER BACK
IN 1966 OR 1967 WHEN I WAS STILL IN HIGH SCHOOL.
TO THIS DAY I WILL NEVER FORGET HOW WE MET.
I WAS AT A DANCE CLUB (can't
even remember
the name) IN DULUTH (in the
bathroom making myself more beautiful)
WHEN SHE CAME
TO ME AND ASKED ME "IF I KNEW HER BOYFRIEND?"
WELL OF COURSE I DID, THE GUY I HAD A CRUSH ON
AND HER BOYFRIEND WERE BEST FRIENDS.
WELL, FROM THAT DAY FORWARD HER AND I BECAME
BEST FRIENDS. AND STILL ARE TO THIS DAY OVER
30 YEARS LATER. HARD TO BELIEVE I'VE KNOWN
YOU THAT LONG "BUD". WE'VE HAD OUR UPS AND
DOWNS BUT, SOMEHOW WE MADE IT THIS FAR.
THIS GRAPHIC IS JUST FOR YOU!
"BUD" YOU'RE JUST LIKE A SISTER
TO
ME
SORRY YOU DIDN'T GET YOUR OWN PAGE.
BUT I'M SURE YOU UNDERSTAND.
