As a child, my Uncle Lou rented a beautiful cottage
on a Vermont lake for the summer. I couldn't have been more than 4 years
old, but that beach house really made an impression on me. It sticks in
my head as the ideal house with white picket fence and secluded wharf.
All that type of things is gone, of course, now-a-days. Those lakes have
long ago been cut up and slaughtered, but the memory remains.
So, when Fred asked me to do a shirt design for his upcoming family reunion,
that old memory is what I used as an underlying basis for the design. The
shirt went over big and we even did reprints after it was all over and
Fred had returned home again.
