It had been a long time since Matt Triumph had brought his gloom to stay with me. The poor thing was blinded in a Pokemon league match. But it had over came this handicap, and was teaching other plant Pokemon it's most powerful attacks. It had grown quite found of a certain young Gloom in particular, and it had also befriended a Muk. Of all things for a Plant Pokemon to be friends with would be a Muk. This amazing Pokemon gave inspiration to all the abandon or abused Pokemon in my refuge. It also taught honor to the other Pokemon that I care for. This charming Pokemon was well loved by all, and he never had any enemies. Even that Cubone's cold heart was touched when Gloom came to live here. Matt still comes to the refuge to visit Gloom, but today there will be no Gloom to visit. I was making breakfast for all the Pokemon when it happened. I had just walked out the back door when Ash Ketchum's Muk tackled me. Now this is nothing new except this time Muk was quite upset as he managed to show me where Gloom was. I have never seen such a horrible site in my entire career of Pokemon research. What I found were two Pikachu who were playing a game of tag near a stream when it happened. Gloom, being blind did not notice what was going on, walked pass as the two shocked each other. When Pikachu play tag they tag by shocking each other. Well, from what the Pikachu tell me is that Pikachu shocked the other one causing it to trip. The Pikachu accidentally knocked Gloom into the water, not knowing who he had hit he shot out another bolt of lighting in to the river. Once the electricity made contact with the water, it literally fried the poor Gloom. The gloom was pulled ashore but alas it was too late. The Gloom was dying. Matt should be arriving at any moment. I could not tell him over the phone what had happened. He's here. "Hi Pro. Oak. How's Gloomy?" "Listen Matt, I have some bad news." "What is it!" "Gloomy's dying." "WHAT?! WHERE IS HE!" I brought him to where Gloomy was, and he was lying on the nest Muk had made for him. Around him his closest friends stood. Two Pikachu were standing nearby, before they ran up to Matt and began to plead that he would forgive them. "What are the saying?" Matt's tears were flowing by the time I explained who and why these Pikachu were begging forgiveness. "I don't blame you. It was an accident…" Matt kneeled down by the Pikachu. Matt was talking to them when Gloomy's pain began again. "Glooom, Gloom!" Matt ran to Gloomy's side. "Professor Oak, what can I do?" "There is nothing we can do, if he survives the night, we might be able to take him to the Pokecenter." "Why can't we take him now?" Matt's anger was beginning to rise. "If we move him now it will kill him. We have to wait until some of the electricity has left his body. Now, let's just make him comfortable until the morning." Matt slept next to Gloomy all that night. He tried to keep the other Pokemon away from Gloomy as he wanted it to get some sleep. But when the morning came, death followed. Penfreak
