Just panting for breath, Artemis loses his shin Katsumi aura and sits there on his haunches with one paw raised and pointed at Karasuman. The legendary type looks at him and questions, “What are you doing now? You don’t have your paw raised for an attack because I can’t sense any new energy from you. Or are you asking for a break?” The black bird just laughs afterwards.

Rob’s Pokemon continues to sit there closing his eyes and smiling at his opponent. A ways from the battlefield Kei questions, “What’s Rob doing just letting his Pokemon sit there so vulnerable? Is he giving up?”

With Magik sitting by his side, Skripter narrows his eyes replying, “No, he’s up to something.”

The younger trainer stands up saying, “Well we should get in there and help. My Mew is almost back to a hundred percent.”

The Team Rocket trainer looks over the other trainer in shock, “You have a Mew?!”

He looks down to the small white Pokemon which answers, “Mew.”

Getting his attention back to the battle, Skripter tells the other trainer, “No, not yet. I want to see what Rob is planning first. If we help now, we might just be getting in the way.”

With a frown Kei ends, “I suppose so.”

The legendary type has now lost his sense of humor asking, “Well? Are you just going to sit there all day like a statue?”

The Katsumi stays in the same position deeply meditating on his attack but still smiling with no response.

“Fine, I don’t care anymore!” Karasuman finishes while leaping forward. He rapidly unleashes a fury of punches with the feline incapable of blocking. The attack subsides and Rob’s Pokemon stumbles away.

“How was that? Are you ready to fight or lie down and die?”

Turning to the legendary type, the white Pokemon gets back in the same position smiling back. With one great footstep, the black bird flies forward yelling, “Is this some kind of game of yours?!” Again, the Katsumi is overwhelmed by a rain of punches and kicks.

Kei looks desperately to Skripter, “Artemis getting beaten to a pulp can’t be a plan! We need to help him!”

Before the younger trainer can run off, the Team Rocket trainer grabs him by the collar. “No you don’t. We wait until I give the word.”

A second time, Rob’s Pokemon is left with just enough of his own strength to stand. A cough escapes him and a few drops of blood splatter onto the stone floor.

“You barely have power enough to stand,” Karasuman states. “Are you ready to give up and admit that I am the ultimate Pokemon?”

The white Pokemon makes a small laugh and gets back into his same meditative position.

“Quit mocking me you Insolent Vermin!” the black bird shouts while jetting forward with a Jump Kick. The Katsumi is sent flying across the cavern falling to the ground to bounce a couple of times before coming to a stop.

The legendary type Teleports before his downed victim telling him, “I don’t care if you do or don’t surrender to me anymore. I just want you gone so that I might feast on your soul.”

Realizing he has no time left Rob desperately calls out, “Mega Kick!”

Karasuman puts one arm up easily blocking the attack and catches Artemis with taloned hand using Bind. He begins to build up a Shadow Ball in his Binding hand saying, “Goodbye!”

Kei shouts, “You can stay here if you want but I’m going!” He then starts looking left and right asking, “Hey, where’d you go?”

At that moment the black bird hears, “Speed Ball!” and Magik crashes headfirst into the dark Pokemon’s face. Rob’s Pokemon falls to the floor as the legendary type is launched to one of the cave’s walls.

The dark gray feline lands and jumps back into the air as his trainer calls out, “With all your strength, Raging Destroyer!” Crossing his paws overhead, the Katsumi throws them back forward sending out three spiraling beams of yellow energy. Before his target can pull himself out of the ruble, the area explodes in a great blast of dirt, stone, and water.

Magik lands on all fours next to the other Katsumi, both looking worse for wear. Skripter’s Pokemon looks back saying, “Whatever you’re going to do you’d better do it now.”

Artemis pulls himself back up replying, “I can’t. I don’t think I can stop him with this attack yet.”

Looking back to the dust cloud the darker Katsumi adds, “Well don’t look at me. I just about used everything I had and more on that fiend, and all I think I did was make him angry.”

The legendary type rises out of the debris remarking, “Another one.” He vaults into the air looking down on the pair of Katsumi pondering what to do with them.

Skripter’s Pokemon looks gravely at the soaring legendary type and almost cries out, “Who cares what it’ll do! Just hit him with it and we’ll figure out what to do after.”

“No, it won’t help at all if I use it now!”

The black bird then starts to descend on the two felines, but Kei hurriedly commands, “Psychic Attack.” Mew appears in front of Karasuman creating a ball of pink psychic energy which starts to shove his opponent back.

“Perfect! Now Teleport and Psybeam.” Before the black bird can destroy the energy ball, the small white Pokemon appears behind his back crushing him between the two psychic waves. With a loud howl from the legendary type, the two energy attacks erupt in a large explosion.

Kei’s Pokemon then lands back on the tunnel floor, a small distance from the Katsumi. The youngest trainer finally runs up next to Skripter who is much closer to the battle than before. The Team Rocket trainer looks over to his friend and remarks, “I was wondering when you were going to show up.”

The psychic smoke dissolves revealing Karasuman once more who is glaring down at the other Pokemon. He yells to the psychic type, “You again?!” The legendary then jets down to his prey continuing, “This time you won’t come back!”

Magik swiftly jumps in front of Mew shielding him from his attacker.

Rob realizes that Artemis has to do something now, or he will lose one of his friend’s Pokemon. “Artemis, do it now!”

The white feline explodes into the shin Katsumi transformation and sails over to the other two Pokemon. Landing right in front of Magik, he takes off again straight into the path of Karasuman so he will not be able to dodge.

The black bird bellows, “So you want to go first?!”

The Katsumi replies by pulling a paw back and throwing it forward while shouting, “Phoenix Final Attack!”

The legendary type stops in his tracks as he sees a Phoenix Clash flash before him like a lightning bolt. Artemis can be seen one last time before the gigantic energy wave reappears hiding the Pokemon behind it.

Karasuman throws his hands forward like someone signaling for a person to stop, crying out, “No! That’s Impossible!” The attack is easily five times the size of the black bird. In a frantic attempt, the legendary type throws a Mega Punch into the blast and slow it down. Despite his efforts, the energy wave continues to shove him back. He throws his other fist into the attack and throws one of his knees up, but the blast refuses to slow down.

The only thing Karasuman can think is, “Where? Where did he get this kind of power?!”

On the ground all of the trainers lie on the ground with their hands over their hands as the force of the attack blows incredible wind through the tunnel. Closest to the attack, Mew created a Barrier for he and Magik to hind behind but the wind circles around it and almost blows the Katsumi away. Kei’s Pokemon just barely grabs his paw before he can be carried off.

Finally, the legendary type’s free foot touches the roof of the cave and his eyes grow wide. The black bird knows that now he will either be crushed by the force of the attack, or be destroyed by the ensuing explosion. All he can do is shout, “NO!!”

As the legendary type is lost in the blue-white energy, the land above Cerulean Cave begins to dome upward. The grandest explosion to take place in Kanto soon follows throwing plumes of dirt and rock hundreds of feet into the air. Shock waves from the blast can be felt for miles around and much of the dust is carried off by the wind and takes days to finally settle. Now this part of Cerulean Cave is known as Cerulean Crater.

All of the trainers rub their eyes cough for the longest time as the dust around them settles. Rob sits on his knees not being able to feel Artemis anywhere nearby.

Still a little hoarse from the dirt, Kei mutters, “Its over. We actually won.”

Skripter gives the other trainer a content thumbs up.

Ash wafts away the dust with his hat as he comments, “Well, I guess our work here is done.”

Back near the explosion, some of the rocks and rubble begin to move and Rob quickly looks up hoping its Artemis.

Karasuman slowly pulls himself out of the wreckage with smoking wings and a very torn robe. Not looking at anyone in particular he comments, “It looks like Artemis destroyed himself in that last attack.”

Everyone’s faces turn to pure shock as he continues, “Now the only thing standing between me and glorious conquest, is yourselves.”

Skripter angrily steps forward stating, “He’s right.”

Still in shock, Kei can only say, “Huh?”

“We’re the only one’s left who can stop him.”

The legendary type turns his attention to the Team Rocket member asking him, “Do you really think you can stop me with another feline when the last one couldn’t stop me?”

Magik walks forward with a determined look replying, “In your weakened state, I should be more than a match for you!”

“Okay, Slash attack,” Skripter calls out.

The Katsumi uses an arching slash but the black bird easily parries it.

“Furry Attack!”

Magik moves about using a furry of cutting motions, but each time the legendary type is gone before the hit can catch its target. Karasuman switches to offense as he begins using Teleport and Mega Punch in succession. After a few hits, Skripter’s Pokemon stumbles away and lands on what he thinks is a rock. He then hears someone say, “Goodbye,” and the feline looks up to see the black bird has caught him with his taloned hand. The moment the Katsumi realizes what is happening, the legendary type blasts him away with a forceful Shadow Ball.

The Team Rocket trainer cries out, “Magik!!” as his Pokemon falls lifeless to the stone floor.

Kei shuts his eyes hard shouting, “You Monster,” while his Mew’s aura explodes with pink energy. Looking sternly at Karasuman, the young trainer tells him, “I’m ending this now!”

Moving away from the defeated feline, the black bird starts to say, “But boy, you should savor your end like,” but Kei cuts in yelling, “Mega Punch!”

The legendary type is struck in the face right in mid word while the young trainer adds, “Dizzy Punch!” While pummeling Karasuman’s stomach, Kei finishes, “Mega Kick, and Psychic!”

The black bird is sent flying back from the kick and the small white Pokemon creates a ball of psychic energy in front of him, throwing at his opponent. Catching the psychic ball with his hands, Karasuman is unable to hold it back as it shoves him into one of the cave’s walls.

“Before he can take control, send a Psybeam into it!”

Mew flies a small ways off the ground and drills his psychic attack right into the ball of energy. The black bird’s eyes grow wide as all of the psychic energy explodes bringing much of the rock wall down.

Kei’s Pokemon glides back to the ground panting for breath while the trainer thinks, “Please, let that be enough.”

Just as the Psychic Pokemon looks up again, Karasuman Teleports next to his prey and kicks him away. With no energy left, the small white Pokemon thinks, “ I can’t do this on my own. I need some help.”
