Tryggur--The New Guy
Tryggur Jarl, just a few hours after he finished his almost 3 week journey from Northern Iceland. He found something green in the pasture, but, alas, it turned out to be cactus! No cactus needles, but not edible.

The 6 horses watching the "new guy" from the fenceline. Mike gets into the act by clicking Tryggur. The last photo was taken from the kitchen window--Ljufur came up from the back pasture to stay with the new guy for a while and they had so much fun playing.

Vinur came up from the back to be introduced to Tryggur and relieve Ljufur of his "entertainment" duties. The "boys" thoroughly enjoyed themselves playing Icelandic Horse games!

Practice Haltering

Tryggur is first asked to "touch" the halter. Then he is asked to put his nose in it a little, then a little more. He's ok with everything so far.

As the left hand slides up the halter, he gets a little nervous, then when he sees the strap going up by his ears, he pulls back. We start over again slowly.
