Miss China is the heroine of the most well-known sub-section
of Spirit of Wonder. (ie her story was animated and published
in English)
China is a young (18 or so) Asian woman living in Bristol
at the turn of the last century. She runs the Ten Kai, a
very popular Chinese restaurant, on the outskirts of town,
and also takes in borders. Well, two to be exact - the
wacky Dr. Breckenridge and his young assistant Jim. I
daresay Miss China puts up with the former for love of
the latter. ^_^ She is very much in love with Jim, who
seems to reciprocate her sentiments, but doesn't quite
know how to show it.
China is a wonderful, expressive character, naive and
yet mature. She herself seems to embody the Spirit of
Wonder.
