Leila's Myth-Arc

Created May 29, 2001:

About Mulder and Scully
After Mulder was kicked out of the X-Files, he and Scully take positions as members of The Cream Berets, the elite investigative force for WHO, the World Health Organization, who have now exercised their previously unknown powers to suspend everyone’s rights in order to stave off a major epidemic that swept the world in the long period of UTTER CHAOS that reigned after 1999 turned into 2000! (The complete story is in the section called "Mulder And Scully".)

As near as I can figure, 1013 hasn't really decided who is going to be Doggett's partner. They tried Agent Reyes and another woman, Agent Harrison. I read that Gillian Anderson is signed on for another season, but for all I know she might get promoted to be another Assistant Director and not be Doggett's Partner (now that she doesn't have that 180 lb. albatross around her neck... :<7......?)

Perhaps on my other page, in a future "Mulder And Scully" story, Scully will be lured back to the FBI by being offered a job as Assistant Director of the sector that contains the X-Files. She would get to make John Doggett's life miserable, that is, until she needs him desperately again.

Meanwhile, just like in the other Myth-Arc, Billy Miles just sort of wanders off out of the hospital with that manic look in his eyes...I've decided the actor that plays him is my favorite for the season :<) In this Myth-Arc, though, he could care less about Scully, or her baby. He becomes a Motivational Speaker.

Also in the next story, Mulder, of course, doesn't get buried alive and give Jesus a run for the money. Skinner rushes in to the morgue just as the local medical examiner is about to make the "y" incision on Mulder. "He moved!" yells Skinner, and they begin to rush around, ordering a guerney, and some bags of this an' that to pump into him. Scully, who has asked to be present to make sure no alien evidence is taken away, gives Mulder a big hug right there on the slab.

When Mulder recovers, Scully informs him that she had an amniocentesis done and that the baby is human baby with no genetic defects. Also she had the baby's DNA compared with her own personal sample of Mulder's DNA (cryo-frozen for just such a purpose; she's no dummy, Folks!) and he can either marry her and support the kid, or just support the kid, HEY! his choice! She has been discussing her career options with WHO/the FBI and she has her choice of several positions, not only in this country but also in several other foreign countries. If Mulder doesn't marry her, he can forget about visitation priviliges, and the kid will have a bodyguard. Scully says all of this with a sweet smile. Mulder decides to commit and they set a date with Scully's priest.

I don't know what happens to the Aliens. Could be they suddenly discover they've been holding their star-map upside-down all along...they've been at the wrong planet! Whoops! They let everyone they've abducted out at a mall parking lot so they look like they're just wandering around wondering where the car is parked.

So in Leila's Myth-Arc, the Big Quest ends like all Big Quests since Time Immemorial. The hero or heroine always discovers that what he/she wants was there all along, but they had to go all around Robin Hood's barn before they knew it. So after Mulder figures out that what he wants is over there at the computer station, we don't need the Aliens anymore. Seriously, who gives rat's behind over whether we see the Alien Invasion? Will Smith has already set the benchmark for beating the bejeebers out of Aliens in "Independence Day," am I right? This thing, from the beginning, has been about two people who are passionate about making their lives count for something and they're up against all the terrible things in life that are such crushing disappointments. You don't get a break at work. People think you're not useful to them. They betray you. They drop you. Love dies. People you care about, and who care about you, die. There's no Justice. So Mulder and Scully? They should both keep their ho-hum new jobs with WHO, The World Health Organization, then come home at the end of their assignment and pick up little Wilhelm at Mrs. Scully's house.

This is from the Gilgamesh story. His good friend Enkadu has died on the field of battle. Gilgamesh has set out to find out how immortality works. Along the way he meets up with Siduri, the Ale-Wife. She says:

Gilgamesh, whither rovest thou?
The life thou seekest, thou wilt not find.
When the gods made man,
Death they made for him,
Life in their own hands retaining.

O Gilgamesh, let full thy belly be!
Dance thou, and play!
Hold fast to the little one who clings to thy hand,
For such is the lot of mankind!

See, Siduri is the proto-type for all Yentas! That's what's been missing. Along around Season Five, Mulder should have noticed his new neighbor, Mrs. Rosenblum, in the corridors of his building from time to time. She always says hello. Then, right before the movie, they should have moved the plot along to where they were right before Scully got pregnant. Mulder and Mrs. Rosenblum meet in the Laundromat. He tells her about his job, and how he's investigating Aliens. She says:

Aliens, Schmaliens!
Find yourself a nice girl, Fox!
How about that little red-head I see over at your apartment?
A real looker! What does she do?

Mulder: Oh...that's my partner, Dr. Scully...
Mrs. Rosenblum clasps her head in her hands:

Oy! A DOCTOR!!!!

Then they could've made the movie.

About The Lone Gunmen

(I should preface this, writing post "Junp The Shark", that, in this Myth-Arc, the boys don't die in a stupid way...Oh, Hiiiiiii Chris :<).) At Leila's Lone Gunmen site, The Lone Gunmen have encountered a murky Syndicate. (See "A Hunter Thompson Weekend" on this site.) These evil baddies may be in cahoots with WHO. (Do not e-mail me and ask me “who” is in cahoots with the murky Syndicate, OK, wise guys?)The murky Syndicate operates from a vast virtual site, a world much like our own, but more to the north, and colder.

A big part of the Leila's Myth-Arc is that The Gunmen have girlfriends. Frohike's e-pal Lois Lane is always just an e-mail away with good advice and sometimes just the information the guys need. She introduces Byers to a nice gal in "The Three Moscateers." Langly gets the girl in "My Friend Flicker." He also gets to be a hero in the eyes of her nerdy son and also gets to be with the boy's interesting pet.

The Gunmen get to do stuff with Bond and Yves, too, in "A Wild Hair Day," and "A Cruise To Nowhere." There may or may not be Aliens in these stories. Most of their stuff here, as in the TV series, is about "intramural" evil, as it were.

We find out that the sons and nephews of a Bio-engineering Research Scientist in California look strangely alike. They all like to surf, too. (See "The Three Moscateers" and "A Wild Hair Day")

So Leila's Lone Gunmen site welcomes back, cast as Doggett's partner, a character we've not seen since "Anasazi." Yes, It's Agent SecondAgent...Sam SecondAgent, F.B.I.! Admit it gals, given the choice between Reyes, Harrison, etc, and a Big Blonde Surfer Guy...?" Whoa! And the thing is, now that CC has decided not to subject his plots to any rational analysis, like asking: are there any PROBLEMS with bringing Mulder back from the dead? Well! Shoot, he may as well be a character/characters! OK, it's settled! He's in.

About Season 11

Well, here's about Season 11: Once again, people you think are dead aren't. Mulder and Scully are still married. Their son is their son and he's nice and he has a great girlfriend. Oh...important fashion note: When Scully is at work, she doesn't wear high heels. Sometimes she does wear whole sole heels like rubber platform heels, but that is it. She came to her senses years ago. She read a report in the JAMA and compared it to her own experiences and concluded she could end up falling down a flight of stairs, or tumble in the middle of a fight, break an ankle, etc. So NOT worth it.

Well, here's about Season 12: This is a continuation of Season 11. There are a lot of new characters because all the ones we know are retiring, including Mulder and Scully. They pass the torch, as the saying goes, to new leads.

So that's all about Leila's Myth-Arc for now. E-Mail me if there's anything else I need to explain here, ok? Thanks! Enjoy the stories!
