Going Home

Going Home

The places we travel
The sights we have seen
We can't help but marvel
at the valleys so green
From ocean to desert to mountains
so high
We see it together as the world passes by
When we approach our own special place
It's so good to relax away from the race
Side by side we experience nature's own gift
It boosts up our spirits and gives us a lift
Cradled in arms of mother earth's land
She opens her heart and extends us her hand
In city and town and along the roadside
When we're together our feelings don't hide
Home means one heart is always right there
Smiles exchanged it shows how we care
So as we travel so near and so far
We know that going home is here where we are.

Lazy Afternoon

Along the water's edge
Watching clouds laze by
Hook and line well placed
Cool breezes caress warm brows
Serenity is the catch of the day
Shoulders drop, arms grow heavy
Calming splashes heard as the
shoreline is gently kissed
Leaning back against a rock
Wishing time could cease its rapid movement

The Call To Come Home

Again and again we return
This place calls and beckons us back
The canyons and cliffs fill our senses
Dispelling all weariness
Waters dredged from centuries past
course over sunken grandeur
Depths unfathomable defy reason
as we glide over hidden vistas below
Eyes bright with wonderment
we ponder to find meaning in what we behold
Boulders perched in precarious places
defy explanation
Mighty and stout, giant cacti reach skyward
beseeching the powers to send liquid
nourishment
Warm winds echo eerily through canyons and
crevices
Creating a backdrop of pipe organs in this
ancient melodrama
Small and insignificant we wonder where we fit
in to this place
The only answer clear to us are the words
silently spoken
Welcome home, welcome home once more.

Just some thoughts.....

There are times when it's hard to rein in the
love flowing from the very center of my being.
Often, as I think about him, my heart does a
little leap of joy.
Sometimes, when I see the flash of blue
expression in his eyes,
it nearly steals my next breath.
In the dim light of night time, I lay beside
him staring at his features so sweet in sleep,
I try to take his image into my dreams.
How perfect is this love of ours, how serene,
how magical, how wonderful.

About Him

He toils with a smile on his face,
back bent, sweat on his brow, mud spattered as
a boy at play.
Lost in his creation, he nurtures the seed
from first notion to brilliant green maturity.
Gentle responses to all inquiries are his
signature.
He works hard and when night falls he sleeps
in peace,
secure in the knowledge his job is well done.
He awakens at first light greeting the day
with optimism and eagerness, he holds me close.
How fortunate I am, to have the love of this
beautiful man.
