The Creation of the Universe
In the Quran there are some fundamental data concerning the existence
of an initial gaseous mass (dukhan) (The Arabic word for smoke) which is
unique and whose elements, although at first gathered and fused together
(ratq ) (means joining together) subsequently became separated or blown
away from each other (fatq ) (means to separate or clove asunder). Read
the following Quranic verses:
"… He Comprehended in His design the sky and it had been (as) smoke: He
said to it and to the earth: "Come ye together willingly or unwillingly."
They said: "We do come (together) in willing obedience."
(The Meanings of The Holy Quran 41:11)
"Do not the unbelievers see that the heavens and the earth were joined
together (as one unit of creation) before we clove them asunder?"
(The Meanings of The Holy Quran 21:30)
This separation process resulted in the formation of multiple worlds, a
notion which crops up dozens of times in the Quran.
"Praise be to Allah the Cherisher and Sustainer of the Worlds!"
(The Meanings of The Holy Quran 10:10)
From the first glance a skeptical might say "These are fairy tales!". But
what does modern science say? Smoke is defined as microscopic particles
of liquids (GAS) and solids (Dust) usually produced by a combustion process.
Many Scientific Multimedia Encyclopedias, that have animated videos illustrating
the beginnings of the Universe and the formation of stars, planets and
solar systems, say almost the same thing about the constituents (Gas and
Dust) and the process by which stars and plants are formed, they defer
only on the time of forming our sun and its solar system, some say it was
5,000,000,000 years ago, others say its only 4,500,000,000 years ago. The
following is an example :
"Five billion years ago a vast cloud of Gas and dust floated through
the galaxy we now call the Milky Way. Billions of miles across, The cloud
of Gas an dust was twisted and shaped by magnetic forces, electrical currents,
and the subtle cool of gravity. As it swirled around its thickening core
the huge cloud gradually flattened into a spinning disk (a solar nebula).
Dust and Gas gravitated slowly inwards and eddies began to form in the
cloud. Particles of matter collided, clustered and adhered into solid bodies.
The larger bodies continued to grow sweeping up particles and dust as they
orbited the condensing core of the disk which became so tightly packed
together. Friction and increasing gravitational pressures in the central
core of the disk generated incredible heat, a protostar was formed. As
the protostar gathered more mass and its core became hotter and hotter,
it reached critical temperatures and the atoms in its core fused together
in a nuclear reaction and the sun was ignited. As this nuclear ignition
happened it blew away most of the gases from the inner solar system and
only hot rocky worlds remained."
"Seest thou not that Allah created the Heavens and the earth in Truth?"
(The Meanings of The Holy Quran 14:19)
"To Him belong the keys of the heavens and the earth: and those who reject
the Signs of Allah it is they who will be in loss"
(The Meanings of The Holy Quran 39:63)
