"There was a new development. Under Texas election law, each party was permitted 'poll-watchers' to inspect the ballots, and the Jim Wells (county) reformers, emboldened by recent successes, had actually dared to name two for Box 13, H.L. Poole and Jimmy Holmgreen, and when they arrived at the Nayer School just as the polls were opening at seven a.m., they handed Salas a paper: a judge's order designed to ensure an honest vote. But in George Parr's precincts, the law was not what was written on paper."
Then Salas instructed the election clerks to absolutely not let Poole or Holmgreen see the ballots. As Salas read out-loud ballots that were actually marked for opponent Coke Stevenson instead as votes for LBJ, Holmgreen who could occasionally see the contrary markings on the ballots, shouted in protest. Finally, after one too many yelps, Salas had Deputy Sheriff Stokes Micenheimer handcuff Holmgreen and lead him off to city jail. Holmgreen was quickly released and as he and H.L. Poole returned to the Election Day tent, Salas told them to "... stay put, don't move from your chairs." Using this method LBJ received as much as 98% of the votes cast in several counties!
So, even today, with a liar like Vice President Albert Gore, Jr., backed by a Clinton justice department, headed by that corrupt Butcher of Waco, Janet "Shake-Shake-Shake" Reno, can you see how a multi-county recount would probably not be in the best interest's of the honest citizen's of Florida?

Speaking of corruption: are my readers aware that during the time Betty Curie, President Clinton's White House Secretary, was testifying in the Monica "White Rain" Lewinsky impeachment hearings, that Ms. Curie's brother died in an auto accident? |
