I-17 Highway Patrol Stop During Rush Hour Traffic

Here you can see the two D.P.S. Highway Patrol cars stopping all southbound traffic. Knowing the angry, hateful and desperate individuals who live in Anthem, Arizona, I am surprised they did not attempt to squeeze between the two vehicles. I assume the officers had their sidearms drawn, visible and at the ready.
Immediately, cars begin to illegally flood across the desert towards the exit that they had already passed. The four wheel drive equipped Hummers, Land Rovers, Escalades and Lexus' LX470 drivers' considered making the move but they were fearful of dirtying their vehicle and possibly spilling their Starbucks $4.70 latte.
