When this ship appeared round the North Head, Auckland, flying the yellow flag, there was dissapointment by those having relatives comin out, and when the Health Officer returned from the ship he reported there had been several cases of infectious diseases aboard.

The Liverpool was a fine Quebec built vessel of 1,454 tons commanded by Captain McEwen. She sailed from London on the 8th and from Plymouth on the 16th November 1866 with 192 passengers.

Port was made on 5th March.

There had been 17 cases of typhoid fever but only two proved fatal.
