SLADE & EDWARDS tender, being within the budget was accepted
and signed.
Timber was carted from FREEMAN & WYLDs sawmill near the end
of Jones Line. After much swearing and cussing the school was
completed and a soiree arranged for 17 March. More than 150
people attended from as far as Foxton & Sandon: Rev Mr HARPER
led the blessing Harry SANSON chaired the occasion. F H A
WHITCOMBE of Marton, teacher appointed. Jamed REID
sang, Mr John SANSON sang, Mr KIRK of the NZ bank in
Sanson sang two humerous songs. Two songs by Mr SLADE,
contractor. Mr TAYLOR of Marton gave 'Jacks Yaam' very well but a
little practice would improve his singing. Mr BERISONN of
Campbelltown sang; Mrs DOWLING ofFeilding played the harmonium
James COSTALL moved that the board be memorialised
