Things About Australia and Australian Literature

The picture is of Uluru, which is also known as Ayres Rock.

I am often asked about Australia - Indigenous People, History, Animals, Geography and Social Structure.

I added a few sites to my homepage, thinking that would be enough .. but as I have gone along, I have found so much more I would like to share with the people I chat with throughout the world. I guess there are few who will actually visit and explore all the sites I have found, but I have had a HUGE amount of fun descovering all the thinks I love about Australia on the net.

If nothing else, I guess my homepage will become a *school project page* for the children of, and the people I chat with!! *L*

I guess the fact that we are so far away makes us different in itself. Separates us from the rest of the world. We are a diverse Nation - made up of the Australian Indigenous People, Irish, English, Italian, Greek, and people from all the other parts of the Asian Region of which we are a part. Of course, we also have people from all other countries, though they don't make up large percentages of the population.

I love our Nations history, flaura and fauna. I know all three are very different from most of the rest of the world, I guess that just makes us kinda unique. I guess the fact that we are so far away makes us different in itself. Separates us from the rest of the world.

One day, when you have the time, visit all the links and enjoy the 'walkabout'.

The Australian Aboriginal race has a rich and beautiful theology, which I am am not qualified to speak on. I will include links, as I find them, on the richness of the *Dreamtime*. Our country is now in a period of reconcilation between the Aboriginal Australian's and the Settled Australian's (for want of a better term).

There is no doubt in my mind, the Aboriginal Australians were overpowered, ill treated and their land changed forever. It happened. I am sorry it happend. I can not change history. As a settled Australian, all I can do, is appreciate the richness of the Aboriginal Culture, teach my own children what I learn and then embrace Australia as the Multi-cultural land it has become.

I hope visitors to this page learn something about Australia, it's many peoples, cultures and amazing animals. Please, never be offended by links I leave here. I only try to leave interesting and diverse links. I am not qualified as an historian or socialogist to make statement or give opinion ..... i am just someone who would like to share.

Please enjoy!! and let me know what you think of Australia and our links. As these links are not my own, I assume they will change from time to time. Also, you will have to use the *back* feature on your browser to return to this page.

I CANT ADD ANY MORE LINKS HERE ........ SO ANOTHER PAGE YOU MUST VISIT *L*
