Crosshatch
I like this quilt for it's colours. Scrap quilts are really the essence of patchwork. In times past, very few quilts were made from purchased fabric; most were made from scraps of clothes, curtains and other quilts. Although all the fabrics in this quilt were new, no thought to colour, only *light and dark* was given. The effect is very warm and welcoming, I think.
I only ever hand quilt, but my time these days is limited, so my sister, Doreen, machine quilted this for me. As a teacher of patchwork and quilting, my sister is my greatest pride. She joined one of my classes about 4 years ago, and has gone from success to success, with a few twisters in between *grin*. Anyone that has ever made a quilt will know what I mean!!
