those magical moments placed in my day
for you taught me to laugh and sing
placing such happiness along the way

i miss the softness of your skin
and the deep brilliance of your eyes
the way they lit up and widened
from my comments as if in surprise

i miss your being near me
the loving tenderness of your touch
the way you made me whole and happy
these things have meant so very much

should now those dark demons approach me
taunting me with their saddening screams
