A Father's Love, A Lucky Man
In the years of my fast life, hurrying to and fro
The running, no direction, no certain place to go
Something took hold of me, making me slow my pace
It brought forth such beauty, such a smile to my face
I married the woman who just made me feel whole
And from this sweet union came my dear sweet Nicole
My angel, my sunshine, my precious little one
A brilliance to compete with and outshine the sun
She could ask me to dance, act funny, even sing
For I am her puppet she needs just pull my string
Oh, we have our rules not just doing things her way
But she does things out of love, not the need to obey
Then came baby Ashley and this man's joy just grew
Now I'm doubly blessed, something I just never knew
To think that I once felt I'd never have a child
Didn't feel I was gentle, yet they've made me so mild
I never take for granted this great wonderous love
And I give thanks daily to the Great One up above
Thanks for my two daughters, my wife, and then for me
For allowing all this beauty to come forth and be
Written for my brother Freddie and his beautiful wife and daughters
