there are times when i look on the outside
and realize that i was left all alone
it fills me with such an emptiness
that cuts me to the bone
but then i take a look on the inside
and realize the feeling is much better
the coldness fades, and the sun comes up
truly warmer weather
it is then i stop and ask myself why
and realize that the warmth is due to you
you have filled me with a special love
that feels so very true
...because of you, i have chosen to be happy. and for this, i thank you.
