once in a while
during a nonexpectant day
someone special just happens by
they come into your life with a fresh breath of spring
filling all of your senses with happy
a wink of the eye
a warm soft smile
a feeling of friendship
you hope lasts a while
mistakes have been made
the first and not the last
but a feeling such a this
places it all in the past
there may be a tomorrow
and you two share the way
since it hasn't yet come
just give thanks for today
